Reading the audit log

Updated 18/07/2026 · 2 min read

Alongside attribution on individual records, Rated5 keeps two separate audit logs — one for operational actions, one for team-management actions.

There are two distinct logs, covering two different kinds of activity.

The business-record audit log

This covers day-to-day operational actions across the diary. It’s readable by anyone with the appropriate permission, and gives a timestamped, named trail alongside the attribution already shown on individual records.

The identity and role audit log

This is a separate log specifically for team-management actions — the things that happen to people’s accounts rather than to operational records. It captures events such as:

  • Invited
  • Activated
  • Role changed
  • Deactivated
  • Reactivated
  • Password reset requested
  • Password reset completed
  • Induction completed

Both logs are timestamped and named, and both are readable by roles with the relevant permission.
