Install Rated5 on your phone or tablet (PWA)
Rated5 is a Progressive Web App, which means it installs straight from your browser rather than an app store — and once installed, it behaves like any other app on your device, with an icon, its own window, and support for working offline.
Installing it
Open Rated5 in your phone or tablet’s browser and look for an install prompt, or the option in your browser’s menu — most mobile browsers offer some form of “Add to Home Screen” or “Install app.” Once installed, Rated5 opens from its own icon like any other app, without the browser’s address bar around it.
Because the exact steps differ between iPhone, Android, and different browsers, there’s no single fixed set of menu taps to describe here — if you can’t find the option, check your browser’s own help for “install a web app” or “add to home screen.”
What works offline
These everyday actions keep working without a signal, and sync automatically once you’re back online:
- Temperature readings (fridge, freezer, hot-hold, cook, reheat, cooling)
- Checklist answers
- Cleaning log entries
- Delivery records
- Corrective action steps
- Probe calibration completions
Photos and file attachments queue separately and also sync once you’re reconnected.
Everything outside that list — things like inviting a team member, changing settings, or generating an export — needs an active connection.
