How your daily checks are generated

Updated 18/07/2026 · 2 min read

Checks are generated automatically each day, based on your premises' own local time — there's nothing to set up or trigger yourself.

Where the day’s checks come from

Every premises starts with a default set: 5 opening checks (due by 9am), 5 closing checks (due by 5pm), and 7 cleaning tasks spread across after-use, daily, weekly and monthly schedules. These are generated fresh each day, based on your premises’ own local time.

Cleaning tasks marked as “after use” work a little differently — rather than appearing as a pending item waiting to be answered, they’re created and completed in the same action, at the point you actually do the clean.

What counts as overdue, and what counts as missed

If a check hasn’t been answered by its due time but the day hasn’t ended yet, you’ll see an amber “Due” badge on it — this is just a same-day nudge and doesn’t affect your record. Nothing is marked as properly missed until a full calendar day has passed with no answer given. At that point it flips permanently to missed.

Missed checks can’t be backfilled

Once an item is marked missed, you can’t go back and complete it. If it needs explaining, you acknowledge it with a reason instead.

Answering a check

Every check is answered once, either yes or no. Answering “no” requires a short note and automatically opens a corrective action. Once answered, the record is permanent.

See how this fits into daily checks more broadly.

Tip: A same-day overdue item isn't lost — it just needs answering before the day rolls over. There's nothing to reset or re-enable.
